PROPHECY & FULFILLMENT - Day 15 - March 11, 2016

Isaiah 53:12a, Luke 23:32-33; March 26, 2012 - Day 15

“Therefore will I divide Him a portion with the great [kings and rulers], and He shall divide the spoil with the mighty, because He poured out His life unto death, and [He let Himself be regarded as a criminal and be numbered with the transgressors;” Isaiah 53:12a

THE FULFILLMENT:

“Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be executed with Him. And when they came to the place which is called The Skull [Latin: Calvary, Hebrew: Golgotha], there they crucified Him and [along with] the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.” Luke 23:32

Approximately 800 years before the birth of Christ Isaiah prophesied of Jesus’ death taking place amongst those who were sinners though at the time of his words it was not fully understood. How can we not marvel at He Who is Lord of lords and King of kings would come not as king but as a humble servant and withstand humiliation and lowliness by being counted among those who were sinners so that we could receive redemption through Him. How great is His love towards His Father and towards us. Mediating on that alone should move our hearts to gratitude and thanksgiving.

Jesus came not only to redeem us from our sins but also to be our example. Peter 2:19-21 reads, “For one is regarded favorably (is approved, acceptable, and thankworthy) if, as in the sight of God, he endures the pain of unjust suffering. [After all] what kind of glory [is there in it] if, when you do wrong and are punished for it, you take it patiently? But if you bear patiently with suffering [which results] when you do right and that is undeserved, it is acceptable and pleasing to God. For even to this were you called [it is inseparable from you vocation.] For Christ also suffered for you, leaving you [His personal] example, so that you should follow in His footsteps.”

Often we hear that we are not of this world but live in it. While we are cleansed from sin from His blood yet we still live in a world of sinners and are numbered among them. I know there are groups of people who separate themselves from the mainstream populace but I am not certain that is what the Lord would have us do for any great length of time or else we would not be following in His footsteps. We are not to be like the world and walk in darkness. Rather we are called to be lights in a world that is walking in deception and darkness. We are to bring to them the good news about Jesus Who is the Light of the world. That is our calling and it will take our obedience, humbleness and meekness, to name a few, to carry it through and most important it will take knowing His love and walking in it and bringing it to others. Are we up to the call. Our heavenly Father believes in us. Let us believe in Him and be fully persuaded through Christ Jesus! Amen? AMEN!!!
