2 Corinthians 5:17 - August 4

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, behold, all things have been made new.." 2 Corinthians 5:17

To be in Christ, there must be an action, an exchange, that takes place. It takes place when we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, repenting of our sins believing that He died for them and that He arose from again on the third day. We lay down our sinful nature, the flesh, and receive His righteous nature, and something supernatural takes place. We become born again not of water this time but of His Spirit living in us.

The interesting thing about the word "creation" in vs. 17. It is the Greek word ktisis and means "a making; thing made." As I read this, what I am seeing is that when we are first born again in Christ, we are a new creation in the making, much like a baby who must go through a process of growth and learning. In the natural we come into the world as a baby, then grow on to be a toddler, etc..The growth process is not perfect. We don't just get up one day and decide to walk. No, learning to walk comes with some falls, some bruises but we keep on going until we get good at it. So should it be with our spiritual walk/growth. We don't always do it perfect but we must get up and keep trying until we get that right and move forward to the next thing. The Holy Spirit is there to help us along the way, to encourage us and to guide us along the way. Like was mentioned earlier on in these posts, it is a journey. We cannot do it alone just as a baby cannot be left on its own. We need those older and wiser than we to help us along the way. We need to know God's Word so that we can learn who we are in Christ. We must submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit and learn to hear His voice, guiding us along the way. Oh, there is so much to learn about God, about Jesus, about the Holy Spirit and about God's Kingdom, which is now our true home. And how incredible is the learning experience. New things are opened up to you. The questions you had are now given answers. So much more. Hold fast to our Lord for the greatest adventure in your life!!!
