It's a good thing, but, may we always be praying in our life daily just as Jesus did and many others who followed God.
On that National Day of Prayer, the world sees; but those who go to their prayer closets, God sees.

May we be partakers of the Tree of Life, and not of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. This latter tree looks good, but evil is also associated with it.
Life comes from God by His Spirit by the Blood of the Lamb - a life given and laid down for His brethren.

Yes, let us be those who pray daily as our precious Lord showed us how. Jesus said that His Father's house is to be a house of prayer. Prayer should be as common in our lives as is breathing, just a natural part of who we are.

And I do believe the Lord is pleased when His people come together in unity and purpose. To see His people gather such as on the National Day of Prayer and others time is Biblical. I have been to these gatherings and have felt His presence and have been blessed to be with the brethren and with Him. Even in a church environment there will be those who come just for the recognition. But there are those faithful ones who come to glorify our Lord and bless Him. The important thing is that our heart be right before Him, amen?
