For God’s Perfect and Loving Will to Be Accomplished in This Year’s Elections
Going a little farther, He fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as You will."--Matthew 26:39
Sovereign God, Your plans are perfect and Your ways are right and just. You put Your plans in place and we see the beauty of all You have designed. We trust in Your perfect will, even when it does not make sense to us.
O Lord, bring about Your perfect will in our nation through these elections, we pray. Do just as You intend and give us faith and understanding to relinquish our wills to Yours, just as Your Son Jesus did when He surrendered His life for our sin. We thank You for Your goodness, and for Your kindness to us and our nation. In Your name, Amen.

Holy Father, election day is now upon us. People have already headed to the polls to vote. Magnificient God, all things are in Your hands and are made for Your good pleasure. This, oh God, is the day You have made and we will rejoice in it, giving You thanks and praise, lifting up Your Holy Name. Lord, we know that all things work to the good to those who love You and love You we do. We know we are blessed to live in this nation, blessed by Your Presence and by the freedom that has been given to us through Your Son and those who follow after Him. It is our earnest prayer that this nation would once again be a nation abiding in Your laws and statutes, seeking to serve You and mankind rather than ones own agenda. Knit the hearts of the people of this nation with Your heart that we might be as one and once again be a light on a hill for other nations to see and receive guidance and hope from that You might be exhalted and lifted on high, given all glory and honor that is due You. We ask this in Jesus' name trusting that You hear our prayers and are working a plan beyond our comprehension but for our good. May we be faithful to You and continue to seek Your face, turning from any evil ways that might be in our hearts and in our nation that the name of Jesus Christ would be a banner over this land, the name above all names, the name of the One who brings true freedom to mankind. Let it be so, in His name we pray. Amen.
