Heavenly Father,
We come before You with heavy hearts, knowing the lives that were lost and the destruction that was done to the town of Greensbury, Kansas yesterday by a tornado that ripped through it. Father, there were other towns in Kansas that were hit by twisters as well, leaving injured bodies and lost property. Our hearts go out to these families that have been affected and we ask that Your mercy and grace be with each one of them as they face what is before them.
Holy One, there is much that we do not understand when things like this happen but we do know You are good and Your are merciful. We ask that You take that which the enemy has meant for harm and turn it into good, in Jesus' name we pray. Let those who know You see You upgirding them in this hour and for those who have not known You before see You in others in their acts of love and kindness and may more be added to Your kingdom becasue of this. Lord, help us all to see Your light in the midst of darkness and may praise always be upon our lips through the bad times as well as the good times.
May Your Spirit flow mightily in and upon these dear people of Kansas in their hour of need and forever more. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
