MAKING WORDS FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOKS - March 30, 2008 - 1 & 2 Timothy
March 30, 2008 09:28AM
So far we have covered these books in the New Testament:
Matthew
Mark
Luke
John
Acts
Romans
1 Corinthians
2 Corinthians
Galatians
Ephesians
Philippians
Colossians
1 Thessalonians
2 Thessalonians

This week’s books of the New Testament is 1 and 2 Timothy. While both of these books were written by the Apostle Paul, the first book of Timothy was written between A.D. 62 and 64 and the second one between A.D. 66 and 67 and, as is clear, both letters are written to Timothy, the son of a devout Jewish woman named Eunice. The first letter brings hope and comfort to this young follower of Christ and also shows the church that Timothy has Paul’s backing and support. Paul writes advice and council in the ways the Christians are to live godly lives, and avoiding evil around them. The second book of Timothy, Paul states that he is assured that he will have a place waiting for him in heaven and he lets Timothy know that he should never be ashamed of the gospel. As Paul writes of the Last Days and the devastation that will take place on the earth and encourages Timothy to look to the Word of God for the power for inspiration to see each believer through each trial that comes ones way and, equipping them to complete their task in Christ.
