This week we are going to make words out of the name "Abraham." Originally Abraham was called "Abram" and he was the first descendant of Noah's son Shem. Abram was a man of great faith. When he was 75 years old God spoke to him and told Abram to leave the land he was dwelling in and move to a place that God was yet to show him. Abram walked out in faith even though he did not yet know his destination.
While Abram had many pagan beliefs, he gave them all up in obedience to God. There is much to be told about this great man of God such as when Abram was 99 years old God gave him a new name and now called him Abraham. At this same time God told him who Abraham would be the father of many nations even though Abraham didn't have any children at that time! We can read about Abraham in the book of Genesis.
