Hi Kids,
This past week we have concluded the first five books of the Bible:
1. Genesis
2. Exodus
3. Leviticus
4. Numbers
5. Deuteronmy
These five books are known as Pentateuch which means "five books" and was written by Moses, except for the end of Deuteronomy which speaks of Moses' death. They are also known as the books of the laws and instructions, given to Moses to the people of Israel by the Lord, God. It is through God's chosen people, Israel, that the covenant was given and through whom the Messiah would come. Jewish people are very familiar with these books of Moses for it is instructions given to them by God through His prophet Moses. The more we study the Old Testament, the more we come to understand the foundation upon which the Jewish faith is established.
Why not try memorizing these 5 books of Moses? If you have trouble with sounding them out, why not ask one of your parents to help you? Have fun and God bless!
