Books of the Bible: making words - July 9, 2007

This week's book of the Bible is going to be a little difficult to find words for, but do the best you can. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 25: 2 "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." So search and see what you can find!

Before getting starting, here is a little information on the book of Judges. It was written long before you were born. Actually, it was written between 1043 and 1004 years before Christ's birth! It covers about 350 years, the period of time from the death of Joshua to the birth of Samuel. It speaks of the judges of Israel who were the leaders when there was no central government. It speaks of the thime that the Israelites went through a time of disobedience and defeat. Anytime we do not obey God we should not be surprised if things do not work our way. We are to obey God in all that He asks of us. When we do not we step outside of God's covering. Let us always remember to do God's will because that is the best place to be, in God's will!

Now, this weeks book of the Bible:

judge, sud, jug, dug, Ed, Jude, due, sue. This is really fun. And yes this week is pretty challenging, but we enjoy trying to think of new words.

Good job Debbie and Caleb! Can't find a word that you haven't already gotten! How funny that you should respond to this particular book in the Bible, seeing how "Deborah" one of the judges of Israel's great judges and the only woman on record to hold this position of leadership over Israel. Not only that, Caleb is found in the very first chapter of Judges. How cool is that! Nothing is by coincidence. God guides our steps. Hallelujah! Go, God, go!!!
