This week’s books of the Bible are Ezekiel and Daniel. Ezekiel was written between 593 and 65 B.C. and covers about a 22 year span of time. It was written by Ezekiel while in Babylon with the other Jewish captives. Ezekiel wrote the generation that was born during this Babylonian exile of the reason why Israel went through destruction. He also writes of the coming judgment on the Gentile nations and of the coming restoration of Israel, promised by God.
Daniel was written between 605 and 530 B.C. to the Jewish people while they were still captive in Babylon. This book written by Daniel was a word of encouragement to the Jews of what God had planned for them in the future and does reveal God’s faithfulness to those who do His will. Within this book is also found a prophetic word, speaking of the future when God will establish a messianic kingdom which will last forever. Hallelujah!
