This week we will be celebrating the birth of Jesus on December 25, 2007. Many scholars have proven that this could not have been the actual date of Jesus’ birth. Some His birthday is in September, others say April. Whenever you choose to celebrate the birth of God’s gift to us, His Beloved Son Jesus Christ, let us always remember that Jesus showed us how it was greater to give than to receive for He gave His life so that others might live in eternity with our heavenly Father and Him. What a beautiful gift that is! Today we can give our lives to serve Him and others by thinking of others needs before our own. Sometimes we get to caught up on what we can get. God’s way is to give. Let us learn to give who have less than us, or who need our time, attention and love. Maybe that could be that bully in your school or the needy child down the street who doesn’t have much. The world would tell us that Christmas is all about getting but the truth is, its about giving. This Christmas holiday let us show God that we are like His Son, Jesus, giving and giving generously, even when sometimes it hurts.
