This weeks book of the Bible in the New Testament is Galatians. It was written by the Apostle Paul between A.D. 49 and 55 and was written to the church at Galatia. As many of the people in this church were Jews, Paul wrote in this letter telling them that they are now children of God and, as such, they are now joint heirs with Christ. He impresses upon them that their salvation came not by their works, but only by faith in Christ. It is a good reminder that our works do not save us, only faith in our Lord Jesus Christ does that. Our works should come from a grateful heart and not through a sense of obligation.
