John 12:15 - Humble King
March 05, 2008 06:19AM
v 15 "Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's colt."
{John 12:15}

John was speaking of Jesus’ coming into Jerusalem and how Jesus would ride in on an ass’s colt. This was a demonstration to the people that he would be a humble king, subject only to his Father.

If our King is humble enough to ride on an ass’s colt, instead of a great white stallion {see revelation chapter 19}, why do so many professing christians act like they are above our Lord. With pride, vanity, a holier than thou attitude, and a lofty attitude, these people are putting themselves above the one who saved them.

These are the same people that will not bow down to anyone.

I am humbled at our Fathers written word and at his spoken word. You should be also, for He is a mighty God who by his nature demands reverence, fear, and respect. He has blessed each and every one of us with so many blessings we are unable to count them. How could you not bow down or even fall on your face in humbleness when you come face to face with your Lord and master and messiah. Being humble is not a sign of weakness. Jesus was humble and in that humbleness his father gave him all the strength {physical and mental} that was needed for his daily walk here on earth. Our Father has also given us all the strength that we need in our own daily walks.

Let us walk with him and talk with him, remembering at all times who HE is.

Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
