"... old things have passed away, behold, all things have been made new.." 2 Corinthians 5:17b

For many of us who first received Christ as our Savior and Lord, they could tell you that it seemed as if colors were brighter, things were clearer. Its almost like putting on a new pair of glasses after having worn a pair for many years that were now scratched and dirty. Suddenly you can see clearly and everything stands out and you are shocked how you had settled for things before being blurry and no where as clear as you are seeing them now.

Plus a weight is taken off of one's shoulders. The guilt and shame that weighed so heavily upon us, but now repented of, is no longer our burden but is set down at the foot of the old wooden cross where the innocent blood of our Savior was shed for the remission of our sins. The old man nature is set behind us as we look ahead in Christ, knowing our lives are set in Him. We rejoice in this amazing gift given to us and praise for what Jesus has done on our behalf overwhelms us. The love of our Heavenly Father envelops us. Thanksgiving fills our souls and awe of Him beats in our hearts. This is the new beginning we longed for and now is. But it is only the beginning. Like the young child who has just been gifted with a new bike, excitement floods the heart and anticipation to climb onto the bicycle seat, little knowing how challenging it will be to learn just how to ride that bike so is the new believer just beginning their new journey with the Lord. But is it ever worth it!!!
