October 19 - Mark 14-16
Chief priests and scribes plot to kill Jesus. Elsewhere the woman with the alabaster jar filled with costly oil of spikenard pours it on Jesus' head. Some there were very upset with her actions, feeling the oil was being wasted.
Just two paragraphs into today's reading and we see those who hated Jesus and wanted Jim dead, a woman who so loved Jesus that she honored Him with great cost and value and yet there are those who felt her extravagant jester towards Jesus could have been better used by selling the oil and giving the proceeds to the poor! The haters, the lovers, the disagreers, do they not all live among us today? Of these three groups, who did Jesus acknowledge most highly? She who honored him by her extravagant show of love to Him!
