Read the New Testament in Three Months
October 29 - Luke 19 - 20
In both of today's chapters we see where the Pharisees and Sadducees question Jesus, trying to entrap Him by coming against the laws and rules of the Jewish people. Even when they send spies out to pretend they upright before Jesus to snare Him, they fail to do so. Jesus can see through their lies and tactics. The Pharisees and the Sadducees had leaders over the Jewish people, walking with authority and given respect by the them. Jesus was a threat to them because the people were going after Him. These leaders did not have the peoples interest at heart but were more concerned about keeping their power upon the people.
We would do well to listen to the true Word of God today, knowing that He knows all things and sees all things. We cannot hid sin from Him nor should we want to We should hate sin as He hates it, knowing its damaging effect upon ourselves and others. Be aware, when you walk with Jesus, those who do not know Him will be threatened by the change in you. They will try to win you back to them and the old lifestyle with sin a part of it. Don't do it! Following Jesus is the best decision you can ever make! May God bless you with a deeper understanding of Who He is!
