November 6 - John 13 - 16

Jesus washing the disciples feet was symbolic of the washing we were going to receive by His cleansing blood. A good reminder that Jesus came to serve and we are no greater than our Master thus we are called to serve as well.

How well are we being His disciples? Are we loving one another as He loved us(John 14:
34-35)? We must allow the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and reveal if we are truly doing this else how are we representing our Lord on earth?

I love God's timing. As so many go out to vote today, there is fear and chaos in our midst, wondering what today's outcome is going to be. Look how perfectly this Scripture falls, knowing thousands of years ago God knew what we would be going through in our lifetime and this very day. This is what we read in His Word today, "Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me." John 14:1 AMP

What a wealth of beauty and love is found in His Word. Direction to live a life that glorifies Him and our Heavenly Father. We are equipped to do the things our Lord did and greater than this if we would walk in love and obedience to Him Abba sent us to follow and become like. Don't let your faith in Him falter.

If we were to sum up today's reading, it would be LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!! Jesus tells us of His love for our Heavenly Father, love for us and the love we are to have for others as well as showing us proof of our love for Him, by obeying His commandments. How wondrous is this love, love that is not like the world's but God's agape love. Hallelujah! We could meditate and feast on these three chapters for weeks! It tells of Jesus leaving them, all part of God's plan, and how that leaving with open the door for the Holy Spirit to come, to lead and guide us, giving us what we need to do God's will and biding.  In His tenderness, He prepares His disciples of what is to come of Him and that it is all in God's plan to bring salvation to us through His Son. Wow!

Brothers and sisters, we can expect tribulation in our lives, even grief, sorrow and disappointment. That is all part of this life on earth. But these are nothing to the promises that have been given to us through our precious Lord, Christ Jesus! Fear not, no matter what comes your way. Have faith in Him and believe that He has it all in control, even if we don't understand it. Glory to God! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord. All honor and praise is Yours, Holy One. Thank You for Your endless and sacrificial love for us. Holy Spirit, help us to be faithful to Him who is deserving, in Jesus' mighty Name we pray. Amen.
