Read New Testament in Three Months

November 9 - Acts 1 - 3

What hope and promise we have in these three chapters of Acts, a book that is continuing today through God's people. The Holy Spirit was not given just to the disciples but to those who believed on Christ and sought to follow after Him, not just to those there but also to those who were afar off - that's you and me! That's our children, if we raise them knowing Christ Jesus and our Heavenly Father which sent Him.

There's much to be learned through these chapters as well:

When Jesus returns we will see Him descending from the sky just as the way He ascended after His time with the disciples after He rose from the dead. It won't be someone saying he is the Christ, but it will be seen by all, so be aware! Acts 1:11

That if we don't do what God has called us to do, He will find another. Acts 1:25

That speaking in tongues is a sign, among others, that the Holy Spirit fills us and we can speak a language we do not know but others around us understand! Acts 2:4-8

That God will pour out His Spirit  on all His people who call upon the name of the Lord, who love and worship Him.  Acts 2:17-21

The promise of the Holy Spirit was not only for those gathered together at Pentecost but to their children and even to those who were far off (us)  if they repent and receive the will of God in their lives. Acts 2:37-41

Want to see signs, miracles and wonders? Then do what the first century church did to receive it! Acts 2:42-47

That it is not us that performs miracles but is Christ Jesus flowing in and through us and He deserves all the recognition and glory! Acts 3:12-13

The precious love of God, that He would even forgive those who had a part in His Son's crucifixion by yelling out "Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Acts 3:13-19

That is a lot of information to chew on, to meditate on and consider, individually, how have we done that which God is still requiring for us to do in this hour so that many souls would come to the same knowledge of Jesus Christ. Now what God is asking of you might look a different than He is asking another to do. That is why it is paramount that we spend time with Him, learning to hear His voice. We are in a time in our nation that is very pivotal for our future. God is asking His people to arise and be the church, engage in spiritual warfare through prayer and love the lost into salvation, including those we might perceive to be our enemies.

This morning I heard in my spirit a quote said by JFK many years ago and is now directed to the people of God. The quote was, "Ask not what your nation can do for you but ask what you can do for your nation." God is saying to us, "Ask not what the Lord can do for you, but ask what you can do for Him."

Church, its our time and honor to do Him proud. Are you in?
