Read New Testament in Three Months

November 14 - Acts 14 - 16

As we read further into Acts we see even more trialsĀ  and tribulations that the apostles are met with as they go forth to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the Jews and Gentiles. To be honest, I have read through the Bible yearly many times over but never before has it been so apparent to me how we are living in similar times, where truth is being rejected by the so called elite and they passing it down to others - not just by words but with hatred and violence. And just as the apostles did not physically fight back in kind to what was given to them but continued to stand on and with Him who IS Truth, so must we, with no compromise or weakening in spirit, continuing to grow stronger in Him. And, we too, must learn to share the love and mercy of God given to us through His Son, taking it into the highways and byways to a lost and deceived world.Let us take to heart what we see through Acts 12:22, "Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the Kingdom of God." We in America have been richly blessed by the goodness of God in this land. It was given to us by Him because of the faithfulness of others who went on before us paying the cost of faith, many paying the ultimate sacrifice. Others fought on their knees before the throne of grace. Unfortunately, over time, we took our freedom and The source for granted, forgetting to be faithful and obedient to the Giver of every good and perfect gift and we turned from righteousness to selfishness. Lord, have mercy on us.

As we read through these chapters of Acts now and in the days ahead, let us remember to listen to what the Lord is speaking to us now. Let us ask Him our part in this hour. Not all are called to be apostles but we are all called to pray and to grow in Christ Jesus. There will be naysayers who come against us and we might lose friendships along the way. Love is our portion and Love is what we are to share with all people, not the world's love but agape love, which is our Heavenly Father's love towards His creation. May God bless you with more of Him this day, in Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
