November 17 - Acts 23 - 25

Wow! As we read today's accounts in Acts we can recognize where an innocent man is being accused of wrong doing without any proof to uphold the accusations! What is happening to Paul in these chapters is similar to what happened to Jesus in the fact that our Lord was not guilty of the charges against Him. The difference is that God had those in place who were listening to what Paul had to say and therefore not letting the penalty of death, of which he was not deserving of, touch him, whereas Jesus, though not guilty of the charges knew He came to die for our sins so that we would not suffer the consequences of them. Paul's had not yet fulfilled what God had called him to so the hate filled slander and lies thrown against him was not able to stop Paul from completing the task God had set for him. That should be of great comfort to us today.

As I have stated previously in earlier daily readings of the Bible, there is a parallel to what we are reading regarding what happened in Scripture to what we are seeing taking place in our nation. Never before have I seen such hateful and devious attacks brought forth against a standing President and those standing with him as we are seeing now. Look at the Kavanugh hearing and the accusations brought before him, all found to be of no merit. The ugly mud slinging taking place across our political parties, the violent demonstrations, etc., we see and hear about in the news. Craziness! Yet, in the midst of this never has there been a greater moment for the body of Christ to arise and to be who He has called us to be. God is opening the eyes of His people to a greater understanding of His Word and to what Jesus did for us and what we are being asked to do as His followers. Do not be discouraged. As we are faithful to Him and trust Him, great things are taking place in the spirit realm that we do not see. He is faithful to cover and protect us to accomplish our purpose here on earth so do not cower under the attacks of the enemy. Our reward is to be with the Lord forever, in a place much more beautiful than this world we are now living in. But our time to go to that place is not going to happen until God says it is time. In the meantime we have the privilege and honor to share Christ Jesus and His promises to a hurt and confused world. Let His peace abide in you and bring it to shine brightly in the middle of this world's chaos. Rejoice in the hour we have been placed in and recognize that we are more than conquerors through Christ who saved us. Walk in His love and be confidant of His love towards us.  Father, let Your Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven, in Jesus' Holy Name we ask. Amen and amen!
