Read New Testament in Three Months

November 22 - Romans 11 - 13

Wishing you all a Blessed and Joyous Thanksgiving!

Hoping you will have an opportunity to read today's chapters because there is so much included in them that, if we consider them, it would turn our hearts to thanks giving rather than a negative view of those whose eyes God closed (the Jews) that we (the Gentiles) could be added to God's family. Far too often we hear how Christians have a negative view of the Jews, saying they were the ones who had our Lord Jesus crucified on the cross. This is far from the truth. God knew how He was going to draw all men to Him and offer them salvation and that was through His Son who knew no sin. Dear people, it wasn't the Jews who killed Jesus. It was our sins - yours and mines. There is such a need for us to understand God's unending love and mercy to all mankind, not just a certain people.

Read on and see how we as those redeemed through Christ are to live our lives. As we reflect today on all the blessings we have this Thanksgiving Day, let that which God has given us through Christ Jesus be foremost on our minds. To our Lord and our God be all glory and honor today and every day. Let us love God with all our heart, soul, mind and spirit, thus showing our thanks giving to Him.

And let us not forget what to what we read in Romans 13:8 -14:

Love Your Neighbor
8 Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. 9 For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” [a]“You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” 10 Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Put on Christ
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.

God bless you all this day with more of Him. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
