November 23 - Romans 14 - 16

Chapter 14 of Romans is a reminder that we are not to judge our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ as to what they eat and drink, whether they hold one day above another for it is not for us to do. We are not their master. If they are doing it as to the Lord, then they are setting their heart before Him and He will bring correction if it is needed. It is not our job to judge them and we must remember that we are in different stages of our journey before the Lord and what we might consider alright to do today might be changed in the future. The important thing is to walk in unity with one another. These is where the church seems to be weak, in walking in one accord with our brothers and sisters in Christ from other denominations or even non-denominational churches. Must say, this chapter brought personal conviction knowing how much the Holy Spirit is endeavoring to teach us to walk in agape love and in unity, not as different denominations but as one body in Christ Jesus. Lord, please help us with this!

Paul goes on in Chapter 15 how those who are stronger in the ways of the Lord ought to carry the frailties of those who are weaker, just as our Lord did for us.The purpose of doing that? "That together you may (unanimously) with united hearts and one voice, praise and glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah)" Romans 15:6 AMP

Romans 16 introduced brothers and sisters in Christ that Paul says should be greeted by those reading his letter for they have done much to help him and to further the advancement of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Look at the many women who Paul introduces to them and gives acknowledgement to their labors. Let us not think the women did not have a part in the increase of sharing Christ Jesus to the world and that they were not a valuable part of the early church. In the first verse in this chapter Paul states that Phoebe is a deaconess at the church in Cenchraea. That is why it is so important to know the word of God so that we know what God approves of and what He doesn't.

Praise be to God for His magnificent Word!!!
