December 4 - Ephesians 4 - 6

In chapter 4 Paul tells us the importance of loving one another and to work towards the goal of us becoming one in Christ Jesus. That, just as Christ became lowly, leaving His high estate to come to and bring salvation to us, so must we become lowly as servants to the glory of God. The Lord's desire is to bring a perfecting and complete equipping to the saints that we might become whole in Him, no longer children tossed to and fro.  Oh, how marvelous is all that God made available to us in Christ Jesus!

In Ephesians 5 we are encouraged to be followers of Christ, walking in love. Paul shares the tricks of the enemy that can ensnare us, making us aware what to avoid and how we can avoid them. He goes on to share the analog of family and church, how husbands and wives are to walk in honoring each other.

Chapter 6 continues where 5 left off, showing us how to walk in the natural in regards to our family structure while also being aware that we are God's family and Christ's bride in the spirit, something for each of us to be mindful of. God is our Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus our Husband and all are children of God, needing to be obedient to Him and His will, glory to God!

Further in chapter 6 we are instructed to put on the armor of God, piece by piece. Read this with an awareness that this is spiritual armor to fight in spiritual battle because our battle is not with flesh and blood, even though it might manifest that way. Let us all be obedient to walk in love towards one another, equip ourselves with the armor that is given us through the Lord, fight the good fight of faith with wisdom and boldness, and bring great glory and honor to our Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ, in His sweet Name, let it be. Amen.
