25 Days of Christmas - Day 7
-I Corinthians 13:8 & 10
v 8 ¶ Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
v 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
This charity {love} never fails because it bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things. It is essential to social and religious life and without it no communion can be kept with God. None of us can expect eternal glory with our Heavenly Father whose heart and soul are not deeply filled to overflowing with charity. Love is invaluable and is to be sought after, because it will always abide and is adapted to all circumstances and to all worlds in which you may be placed, or in which you may live. Verse 8 speaks of prophecies failing, tongues ceasing, and knowledge vanishing, this is when Christ returns to rule on this earth for a millennium, these gifts of the Holy Spirit will cease, but LOVE will always exist. You should seek that which is of enduring value, therefore love should be preferred to all other gifts of the Holy Spirit on which we place such high value. Love above all will continue throughout eternity. Who will need such gifts when we have the gift giver dwelling among us for all eternity?
We have here on earth but little knowledge even of earthly things, much less of heavenly {spiritual} things. He that thinks he knows the most, knows but nothing in comparison to what is known by your Heavenly Father. Considering the frailty of human knowledge, how is it that so many men {and women} walk around with such pride and arrogance considering themselves like gods? {this was tried once before by Adam and Eve, and God kicked them out of the garden}. But when that which is perfect {our Lord Jesus} comes we will rejoice and sing and dance before his throne. We shall know Him and through Him, our Heavenly Father. Not just knowing of Christ Jesus and our Heavenly Father, but we {you} will truly know Him and our Father and His unconditional love for you, never faltering, never failing, never ending.
Love conquers all - Love your God with all you heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. Do this and you will be wrapped in more love than you ever knew existed.
