Paul wrote this letter to Timothy between 62 and 64 A.D. Timothy was a co-laborer with Paul and due to his spiritual abilities was an ideal candidate to leave at the church at Ephesus to encourage and guide them. But Timothy is not experienced in doing this so Paul writes him a letter to encourage him and to give him some points in leadership skills and how to establish a godly church.
