Read New Testament in Three Months
December 12 - Hebrews 1 - 4
It is not certain who wrote this book. It could have been Paul, Luke, Clement, Barnabas,Priscilla, Apollos, Phillip or Silas, at least those are the ones deemed to have been the possible writer. What is known is that it was written between 64 and 70 A.D. to Hebrew believers. Rome was a place where the church received a lot of persecution, and this is where it is assumed that these believers were and many seemed to be turning back to their Jewish roots rather than the teachings giving them through Jesus and the apostles. As you read this book you will notice how the writer of Hebrews is telling the not to live by the old ways of their Jewish faith but to walk in the truth faith through relationship of Jesus Christ. Let us also be opened to what we read in these chapters and know that it is only through faith in our Lord that will bring us salvation, Jesus alone is the Way, the Truth and the Light. Amen? Amen!
