25 Days of Christmas - Day 21

v 6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

Godly love does not rejoice in sin {an accidental happening - ie, anger} much less the planned violation of the rights of someone else {iniquity}. Gods love will not and cannot survive in the bearer of iniquity, for how can we have the love of God in and shining forth from us and still plan and carry out a grievous act against a brother or sister? We are told {commanded} to love {agape - Gods love} the person {our enemy} but not the sin, the transgression {a spur of the moment willful violation of Gods command}, or the iniquity. Rejoice not in the love of iniquity as the world does, but rejoice in the love that our Father has for you and has given to us to share with those that do no know love much less the love of the Father.

Let us rejoice in the truth of God’s love as we have seen it thus far, it is long suffering, kind, does not envy, is not boastful, not puffed up, does not behave unseemly, is not self-seeking, is not easily provoked, and thinks no evil of the evil put forth against it.

Yes let us rejoice, for this is the love that your Father has for you, and this is the love that he desires that you {we} extend to all of his people, Jews, Christians, and gentiles, for we are all God’s people. As the song goes "red and yellow, black and white they are precious in his sight, Jesus loves the little children of the world". No distinction, he just loves all. Can we return his love to him with no distinctions and no preconceived ideas ? Yes we can, when we worship him in spirit and in truth.
