“I will worship toward Thy holy temple, and praise Thy name for Thy loving kindness and for Thy truth; for Thou hast magnified Thy word above all Thy name.” Psalm 138:2
Sometimes we forget how deserving our Father is of our praise and what a gift He has given us. The Jewish people so reverenced God that they would not even speak His name because they exalted Him so highly, yet He has magnified His Word, Jesus Christ the Living Word, even above His name because of His loving kindness towards us.
I wonder if David knew the magnitude of those words when he spoke them long ago. To us who know the Messiah has been here, those words have been given greater meaning. May we always cherish and be thankful for what God has given us through Christ Jesus and may our hearts be filled with praise towards Him who sent Him exalting Him in all things and sharing Christ with others for His glory.
