James 1:17-18 - The Giver Of Every Good And Perfect Gift

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of His own will begat He us with the Word of Truth, that we should be a kind of fistfights of His creatures.” James 1:17-18

Most of us know that God is a good God and that He blesses us with many things. Everything good comes from Him. But how often do we realize just how much He loves us and that out of His own will , His own desire if you will, did He create each one of us. God saw us as “good”, as a first fruits of His children. We are created to fellowship with Him and to walk in His goodness.

Sometimes we need to just step back awhile and think of the love in which we were created. To those who have children, are not you most blessed when our own children reciprocate the love you have given them, when they walk in the truth and the ways you have shown them, when they appreciate your wisdom and are thankful for all you have done for them? And are you not blessed when they love others as you have loved them? I believe that in many ways this is how God feels about us, His children when we acknowledge Him.

He that is the giver of all that is good is our Daddy God. Let us be kids who do Him proud and strive to show Him how grateful we are for all His goodness by fellowshipping with Him and walking in His ways as did our big brother Jesus. Let us bring Him glory and honor through Jesus Christ. Amen.

When God created man and brought forth woman from Adam's rib, He fellowshipped with them in the Garden. He still wants to fellowship with us today. That is why He sent His Son, so that we could be restored back to Him. Today we see so many children who are not content with the things they have. They are always asking for more and the more you give them the more they want. It is a very sad reality. Sometimes I think we have gotten that way with God, wanting more and more from Him and never being satisfied. If we don't get what we want, we pout and say that He doesn't love us.

If we gave our children everything they wanted they would be spoiled little brats. They would be dissatisfied with life and always looking for the next "thing" they could have. And what a mess the world would be because of it.

Today, let us take a long and honest look at our lives. Are we growing to be spoiled sons and daughters of the Most High God or are we thankful for what we do have and even thankful for what we don't have, trusting that Daddy knows best and striving to please Him because He is good and worthy? Its better to think of this now rather than later, when it is too late to change it.

God bless!
