Matthew 9:15 - Suppers Ready!
January 10, 2008 06:15AM
v 15 “And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.” {Matthew 9:15}

Some look at this as another parable told by Jesus to His disciples. Lets take a close look at our Lord Jesus is saying. Jesus is the bridegroom and the “children of the bridechamber {Jesus’ disciples} were joyful, happy and talkative while their friend and master {the bridegroom} was among them, yet days had been accomplished when the bridegroom was taken from their midst. These same joyful and happy disciples were found to be mourning {no joy, no happiness, just sorrow and disillusionment} while hiding in the upper room after their {and our} messiah has been crucified. Were all the miracles that he performed just tricks, was everything that he had said just a lie? Confusion and fear pervaded through the room. The bridegroom had been taken from them and had been subjected to a most horrible death, crucifixion. What were they to do?

Do not be intimidated or fearful, stand tall, be brave, and fear no man, for the bridegroom lives and His Father, our Heavenly Father is preparing wedding feast for His Son that none of us could even imagine. The bridegroom is ready, all that is needed now is “That he might present it to himself a glorious church {bride}, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” {Ephesians 5:27}

“And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” {Revelation 19:9}

Coming soon is the one and only true bridegroom, Jesus, and he is coming for His bride. Let us prepare now, for no one knows except the Father when the marriage will be and the wedding feast will begin.
