Galatians 3:14 - Blessings

v 14 “That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” {Galatians 3:14}

‘That the blessing of Abraham’ That we should have the bless of Abraham which is, justification, reconciliation, and adoption with all other blessings that come with this blessing such as peace with God, spiritual life, and eternal glory through Christ Jesus.

God has made us Gentiles partakers of the free blessing of Abraham in Christ. Jesus was made a curse for us {Galatians 3:13}, so that the blessings promised to Abraham might be given to us who believe on Jesus.

Here it is made known that the promise of the Spirit {the spirit of adoption, sonship} came by faith, rather than by the law, through faith and not by works, for faith looks wholly and completely to the promise. The Spirit {adoption} promised to Abraham upon his believing, came upon all of us believing Gentiles, through Christ, the promised seed: so that we might receive the promises made by Christ, of the holy Spirit, both in its miraculous gifts and sanctifying grace, through our obedient submission to faith in Jesus Christ. From the beginning God had purposed that salvation should be through faith, and never expected that any soul of any man should be justified by the works of the law. God gave the law so that the exceeding sinfulness of sin would be seen, and that man {you and I} might be prepared to welcome and believe in the messiah which proclaimed salvation to a lost world through His atoning passion and death.

Let Christ be always before our eyes, as a sure argument for the defense of faith, against dependence on our human righteousness.
