Heavenly Father, this day we lift to You the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island, two states of the original 13 colonies. Lord, please forgive these states for the wrong they have done You and for the innocent blood that was shed on their land including that of the Pequot Indians that were massacred in Connecticut. Holy One, there is much darkness that has taken place in both states, corruption in government, greed, allowing unholy relationships to be accepted and other things that bring shame. Lord, we seek Your mercy over judgment for Connecticut and Rhode Island. As we ask Your forgiveness, we also ask that You remember the prayers and the covenant of the forefathers and ministers that came to these states seeking Your face and Your will to be done. Hear, oh God, the prayers of Your people that rise up to You now, in Jesus’ name, and fulfill that which You spoke to the hearts of those men and women who settled here so long ago. They are two small states, Lord, but much can be done for Your kingdom as we set our eyes upon You. Let it be so, in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
