Dear Father, today we lift the state of Florida to You, asking for Your grace, mercy and Spirit to touch this land anew, in Jesus' name. It was interesting to find that this state received it's name from Juan Ponce de Leon who landed on the shores of northeast Florida in April of 1513 while looking for the Fountain of Youth. He called the area "la Florida" in honor of Spain's Eastertime celebration "Pascua florida" (feast of the flowers)which was taking place. Praise be to God! Florida was named for the celebration of our Lord's death and resurrection. Little did Ponce de Deon know that the fountain of youth he sought had already been found in Christ Jesus! Hallelujah!
Holy One, there has been innocent blood shed on this land as well, offenses done against you in many ways and against one another. Father, we ask that You resurrect this land and it's people to be ones who follow after You and bring You honor and glory through You Son, Jesus Christ. Please let it be so, in His name we pray.
