Day Nineteen: For Candidates to Sincerely Portray Their Faith

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.--Hebrews 10:22

Thank You O gracious, loving God that You have provided the way for every person on earth to be cleansed of sin and guilt. Thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus Christ, whose blood washes us clean and leads us to our heavenly home. All honor and glory to You O God!

As the candidates continue their campaigns right up to Election Day, Lord, may they freely share their faith with honesty and candor. Lord, let there be such a climate in our country that we welcome expressions of faith in You. Give the candidates discernment and wisdom, God, as they speak of their beliefs, and give us, Your people, wisdom as we consider how we will vote. May Your will be done as the truth is revealed. Amen.

Father, one of the things that is so grieving is when candidates say and promise so many things during their campaign for political office but once they get into office they do not follow through. How we pray that truth will come forth from their mouths and that they will say what they mean and mean what they say. Let this be true in regards to their faith. Let them be honest in all things including their faith system. Let them be not ashamed to share their faith and may they speak it in honesty and not to tickle ears of the people, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
