For a President Whose Heart is Tender Toward God; Who Will Listen to Him and Sow Seeds of Justice Throughout His or Her Tenure

The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases. All a man's ways seem right to him, but the LORD weighs the heart. To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.--Proverbs 21:1-3

Heavenly Father, You have laid out the oceans and rivers, the mountains and valleys; You set the planets on their paths and You know the name of every star in our vast universe.

Please, Lord, give to us a president whose heart is attuned to You—who hungers to serve You and do Your will above all else. Protect us, God from trusting in our own ways, and keep our hearts attuned to You so that we will be acceptable to You in all things and in all our ways. In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Oh, Precious Lord, there is so much darkness and propaganda that comes out during the political campaigns. Slander is a normal course of action and it is injurous to the spirit. It is almost with relief that we are approaching election day. Father, we know it is You who puts leaders into office and yet we are aware that You have called us to have dominion upon the earth. As the final days approach we pray for great wisdom to come to Your people. Open their ears that they might hear Your sweet voice and in that hearing would obey Your voice and put into office those You desire to be there. Open eyes to see truth over flowery words, that they might see and know the candidates heart in a matter and whether their heart is turned towards You. Give us great discernment as we go to vote this Tuesday and may the Holy Spirit lead us to vote for the right candidates, men and women who will have a heart like David, those after Your own heart. Let it be so, in Jesus' name.

And Father, I ask that You touch the hearts of the leaders in the church today, pastors, ministers, priests and shepherds, those who You have called to guide Your flock. Holy One, as I was listening to The Call that was going on in California last night I heard where Your people use to go to the pastors and church leaders the Sunday before election day, seeking to hear who were the godly candidates they should vote for. Things have changed so much over the years in so many of the houses that are called Yours yet who have a ear more to man than to You. Please, dear Father, may that change in the days ahead. May all those who say Jesus Christ is their Lord be true houses/churches of worship towards You, houses/churches of prayer and submission to You, in Jesus' name we pray.

So, Father, we pray this day not only for a godly president to be elected, one who would have an ear for You but also for other leaders, both in the public office and in the churches be those who will lead the people of America with godly wisdom and understanding of Your ways, set to do Your will first, seeking righteousness and establishing Your kingdom on the earth as it is in heaven, in Jesus' name we pray. This might seem like a big order but with You, oh Holy One, nothing is impossible! Bless Your Holy Name, now and forever! Amen.
