On this national day of prayer...
May 03, 2007 08:27AM
Heavenly Father,

I come before You this day with a heart filled with thanksgiving towards Your, Your faithfulness, Your goodness. Truly, Your hand has been upon this country that was claimed for You through Your Son, Jesus Christ, 400 years ago. A covenant was made on the shores of Virginia that this nation would be one that would spread the Good News of Christ Jesus not only to this land but to the nations of this world and that covenant has been kept, even up to this day, as many missionaries and ministers go to other lands declaring salvation and wholeness through Your precious Son.

But, Lord, America has begun to turn from her godly ways, allowing those to come in and speak that which is not good as though it were and turning a deaf ear to that which is good calling it evil. That ought not to be so, Lord. Even knowing that Your Word says that this world happen in the last days, we must guard our hearts and be always sensitive to Your ways, not turning from the left or the right but walking boldly in the footsteps of Your Beloved Son. Father, like Jesus, we stand in the gap and intercede for this country, asking forgiveness for our sins. We have been like the prodigal son, taking all the riches of our inheritance, walking away from our Father and Brother and squandering it on our selfish desires rather than remaining and working in "the Family business." Please forgive us for our selfish ways and return us back to You, in Jesus' name we pray. Restore us as a godly nation, one nation under God, based upon Your Word which became flesh. We are in great need of You, Holy One, and we repent of our sinful ways, desiring that You be exhalted in America once again. Please, Father, let it be so, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
