Prayer for the Republic of Armenia

The Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked mountainous country in Eurasia between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, located in the Southern Caucasus. It shares borders with Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and the Nakhchivan exclave of Azerbaijan to the south. A transcontinental country located at the juncture of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, Armenia has extensive sociopolitical and cultural connections to Europe.

A former republic of the Soviet Union, Armenia is a unitary, multiparty, democratic nation-state with an ancient and historic cultural heritage. Historically the first nation to adopt Christianity as its state religion, Armenia is constitutionally a secular state today, although the Christian faith plays a major role in the history and identification of the Armenian people.

Armenia has been populated since prehistoric times, and has been proposed as the site of the Biblical Garden of Eden. Armenia lies in the highlands surrounding the Biblical mountains of Ararat, upon which, as Judeo-Christian theology states, Noah's Ark came to rest after the flood. (Gen. 8:4). Archaeologists continue to uncover evidence that Armenia and the Armenian Highlands were among the earliest sites of human civilization. From 6000 BCE to 1000 BCE, tools such as spears and axes and trinkets of copper, bronze, and iron were commonly produced in Armenia and traded in neighbouring lands where those metals were less abundant. The territory of Armenia is also one of the candidates for the legendary Aratta, mentioned in Sumerian records.

Prayer:

Mighty One of Israel, the past and the present are all intertwined into one with the blood shed in the country of Armenia. Please O Mighty One send your ministering angels down amongst the people of Armenia and minister healing and peace to them. Let them forgive their enemies and pray for their enemies. Pour out your oil of gladness upon this land as you did in the beginning.

This I pray in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Wow, Lord, I knew so little about Armenia and that it is proposed to be the site of the biblical Garden of Eden. How cool is that! Oh, how this must be such a very special place in Your heart, a place of bitter sweet memories as we reflect upon it. But Father, with You there is no time so You know it's end from the beginning. We speak blessing and great revelation to the people of Armenia, and great wisdom and discernment as well that what happened so long ago will not happen in the future, but rather that the people will be aware of the wiles of the enemy and not fall for them, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
