Forgive us, Father...

Holy One, we need only to look around us to see how far we have wandered away from You. Schools are not like they use to be, not only a place to learn of so many things, but a place where You are welcomed and allowed in. Government has become more a business than a service to the people of this nation. The foundation that this nation was set upon, that of Your Holy Word, has become cracked and the very thing that made it great is now a cause of distaste to those who want to live a life apart from You. Abortion is called 'choice' rather than what it is - murder. Children are being raised either without both parents or are rejected all together.

Lord, I know this is not so in all cases. There are many godly out there who are seeking Your face and striving to turn from their wicked ways with Your help. Yet, there is so much darkness out there that it grieves the soul. Father, as a corportate nation, may the voices of Your people be heard by You. Forgive us, oh God, for walking by the flesh rather than by Your Spirit. Help us to turn back to You in ALL of Your ways. Open our eyes to see You, our ears to hear You and our hearts to receive and do that which You have for us. We are desperate for You, Holy One. Jesus, we need You not only to intercede on our behalf but also to reveal to us all the more how to conform into Your image. Help us to put on the mind of Christ. Teach us to serve as You served. To love as You love, even being willing to give our life for our brothers (and sisters) and friends. Show us that which the Father is doing that we might do it, too. Help us, oh Lord, for we are in great need of help and guidance.

And Lord, bring us back as a nation to love what You love and to hate what You hate. Remind us of Your great love for Israel and how You will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel. The land Israel now owns is the land You gave her. Let us not forget this! While we are to love all people let us not compromise You will in the midst of loving all.

Holy Spirit, come and hover over God's creation and draw us back to Him, revealing the truth and beauty of our Lord Jesus Christ to ALL the world, in His sweet name I pray. Amen.
