Heavenly Father, we come before You today and lift to You the families of those who lost their lives six years ago today. We mourn for the loss of these innocent people, men woman and children knowing that their life is precious to You. Holy One, You do not even delight in the death of wicked. Rather You would have all people know You and turn from their sinful ways.
Father, we also mourn for the families of the men who high jacked those planes that day. While they rejoice in their deaths as those of martyrs, little do they know that no paradise awaits them, only eternal damnation. Oh, Father, open their eyes that they might come to know Him Who is The Way, The Truth and The Life. It is not Your heart that any should perish yet, without Jesus, that is exactly what they will do.
Lord, while we raise these prayers today we also lift our praise to You for those whose lives were spared. There were many who were guided or protected by Your hand. Why some and not others? We do not know. But we thank You for those who were and ask mercy for those who were not, in Jesus' name. Amen.
