MAKING WORDS FROM THE NEW TESTAMENT BOOKS - Jan. 6, 2008 - MATTHEW
January 06, 2008 02:43PM
Happy New Year!!! We begin the new year with the first book in the New Testament. Fitting, isn’t it to start here?

Matthew is the first gospel written by one of Jesus’ twelve disciples and it was written between A.D. 50 and 70. The book of Matthew follows the genealogy of Jesus through Joseph and shows the prophesies of the Messiah’s coming in the Old Testament fulfilled through Jesus Christ. The four gospels - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, are a bridge between the Old and New Testament, showing the fulfillment of the Old Covenant transitioning into the New Covenant. Glory to God!!!

This week’s book of the Bible is:

MATTHEW
